Microsoft is preparing to offer Windows 11 users more control with a new update to be released in August. Some AI models integrated into the operating system can now be completely removed from the system with a single click.

New Freedom in Storage Space

This new infrastructure, which appeared in test version 26300.8553 prepared for Windows 11, allows users to have more options over system files. In particular, AI components that come pre-installed on Copilot+ PC models and occupy a considerable amount of storage space can now be managed optionally.

The AI ​​​​Phi Silica model, which occupies approximately 2.59 GB of space in systems, stands out as one of the most concrete examples of this change. Users will be able to quickly delete these types of models via the Settings menu.

Microsoft is creating a special area within Settings for managing these models. Users who follow the path Settings, System & AI Components will be able to clean the relevant models from the system using the delete button located there.
