Doğan Trend Automotive CEO Uğur Sakarya, as a guest on car journalist Özgür Taylan Dil’s program, discussed the work they are undertaking to bring Mazda models to Turkey. The company’s collaboration with the Japanese manufacturer includes the introduction of new vehicles to the market. Sakarya stated that compact models such as the Mazda 3 and some pick-up options in Mazda’s product range are suitable for the Turkish market. It was stated that negotiations are ongoing regarding bringing these models to Türkiye.
A New Era for Mazda and MG
Doğan Trend Automotive signed a service agreement with Mazda Motor Europe last February and began managing the service network in Turkey. Having successfully completed the transition period, the company announced that it has expanded its service network to 22 different service points.
On the other hand, there are also valuable plans for the MG brand. With the commissioning of MG’s factory in Spain, the goal is to bring electric models to Türkiye with zero customs duty. With this strategy, MG’s annual sales figures are expected to reach 15-20 thousand units again.
Maxus Pick-Up Coming at the End of the Year
Concrete steps are also being taken for the Maxus brand, which is part of the SAIC Group. The company plans to introduce the Maxus pick-up model to the Turkish market at the end of the year.
It has been announced that the new pick-up model will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 double cab options. What are your thoughts on these new developments in the automotive industry?
