iPhone 20 Canceled? Here’s the Latest Situation

Theories and latest developments about Apple’s new glass-designed iPhone model planned for introduction in 2027.

Discussions continue about the new iPhone model that Apple plans to release in 2027 and is expected to be a special edition for the 20th anniversary. While some sources claim the project has been canceled, new information indicates that the design is progressing as planned.

Financial analysis firm Jefferies previously stated that a completely glass design is no longer expected for the 2027 iPhone model. However, a new report shared by Bloomberg states that, contrary to these claims, the project’s development process is continuing.

Design Details and Expectations

Jefferies’ report claimed the project was halted due to low production efficiency. The new report refutes this, emphasizing that Apple continues to work on the new device, which it will introduce in September 2027.

Depending on the device’s naming strategy, it is expected to be named either iPhone 20 or iPhone 19. Even before the iPhone 18 series has been introduced, the tech world is already focused on the details of this special model for 2027.

This new model, described as all-glass, will actually have a structure containing a metal frame and internal components. The design is planned to be supported by glass surfaces extending to the edges and a metal band in the middle.

According to rumors, this design aims to represent the Liquid Glass transition on the software side with a physical form. It is stated that Apple initially considered a concept with more glass usage but shelved this idea early on.

It is thought that the arguments in Jefferies’ report may only have a degree of truth regarding the cancellation of the first concept with excessive glass usage. The current design is said to have been simply reduced to a more reasonable level.

Expectation of a Design Change

The iPhone X, introduced in 2017, represented a significant design change for Apple with the removal of the physical home button. Although innovations such as Dynamic Island have been introduced since then, the overall design language has largely been preserved.

It is known that Apple finalizes its designs a year before the September launch. Therefore, a major change is not expected in this stage of the development process for the 2027 iPhone Pro series.

Development Process and Schedule

Considering that Apple usually finalizes its design decisions a year before the launch, it is thought that the 2027 model will adhere to the current plan. Whether the company will present users with a fundamental design change as in the iPhone X era remains a matter of curiosity.

Do you think Apple’s new glass design approach, prepared specifically for its 20th anniversary, will succeed in impressing users?
