iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max May Be Thicker

iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max May Be Thicker

According to newly leaked information, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models will appear with a thicker body design due to their increased battery capacity.

New information about the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, which the technology world has been eagerly awaiting, has come to light. According to theses shared by the Chinese source Fixed Focus Digital, the new flagship models that Apple is expected to introduce in September will have a physically thicker structure compared to their predecessors, the iPhone 17 series.

These devices, which are expected to take the stage at the same time as the foldable iPhone Ultra model, can thicken by approximately 2 mm due to increased battery capacities and reach a body thickness between 9.9 mm and 10.9 mm. This design change seems to directly affect the weight of the devices.

  • iPhone 18 Pro series devices will be offered with a body design that is approximately 2 mm thicker than previous models.
  • Battery capacities in new models will be significantly increased to increase power efficiency.
  • The increase in the thickness of the devices will be directly justified by the increased battery size and density.

Battery Capacities Are Significantly Increased

Newly leaked data proves that Apple is focusing on battery performance, which directly affects the user experience in the iPhone 18 series. According to the technical details reflected in official records, the eSIM version of the iPhone 18 Pro will come with a battery capacity of 4,288 mAh, and the version with a physical SIM slot will come with a battery capacity of 4,056 mAh.

These values point to a significant improvement in power storage compared to the current iPhone 17 Pro models.

Apple adopts the strategy of emphasizing battery life by sacrificing design aesthetics.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Reaches Record Levels

iPhone 18 Pro Max, the top segment of the series, pushes the limits in terms of battery capacity. While it is predicted that a battery with a capacity of 5,567 mAh will be used in the eSIM supported model, the option with a physical SIM slot will offer a capacity of 5,391 mAh.

Compared to the 5,088 mAh and 4,823 mAh batteries in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it is claimed that the new generation devices will significantly extend the daily use time. The increase in the thickness of the devices is expected to be perceived by users as a performance-oriented sacrifice.

This growth on the hardware side may be directly related to Apple’s desire to meet the energy it needs for artificial intelligence integrations and higher-performance processor architectures.

More battery life is one of the most requested features by smartphone users today. Therefore, the device being slightly thicker may be an acceptable compromise for many users.

Do you think it is the right decision for Apple to design the iPhone 18 Pro series thicker to offer higher battery capacity, or should thin design always be a priority? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
