HMD Arc 2 was officially introduced with its updated Unisoc T603 processor and 5,000 mAh battery. Here are all the technical details and release date of the new affordable phone.
HMD Global quietly introduced HMD Arc 2, the updated version of its well-known entry-level smartphone Arc model, to the technology world. The new device aims to offer a more efficient hardware infrastructure while maintaining basic design limits.
HMD Arc 2, which will be first available in the Thai market on July 20, targets users looking for an affordable smartphone. The device, which comes out of the box with the Android 14 Go operating system, offers a customized performance stability, especially for the audience who want to perform basic daily tasks.
New Processor Used for Performance Increase
Although HMD Arc 2 bears great similarities with its predecessor in terms of design, it includes a small but effective upgrade on the hardware side. The Unisoc T603 chipset, which is at the heart of the device, stands out as a modernized version of the SC9863A model used in the previous generation. Developed with 12nm production technology, this chip can reach a 1.8 GHz clock speed and provides higher power efficiency than the previous model.
The updated processor infrastructure significantly increases the daily use efficiency of the device.
Screen and Hardware Features are Preserved
The new model continues the IPS LCD screen technology with 6.52 inches HD + resolution. Offering a standard visual experience with a 60Hz refresh rate, Arc 2 is supported by 4GB RAM capacity. Users can choose between 64GB or 128GB storage options depending on their needs. Additionally, the device also has a special microSD card slot for those who want to expand their storage space.
In terms of camera capabilities, there is a single 13MP sensor on the back of the device. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera positioned in the waterdrop notch design.
Battery Capacity Supports Daily Use
HMD Arc 2 includes all the basic touch features expected from an entry-level device. The 5,000 mAh battery, charged via the USB-C port, aims to provide long battery life with 10W charging support. The 3.5mm headphone jack continues to be preserved for those who want to use wired audio accessories. The device is offered to consumers with two different color options: Dark Blue and Golden Beige.
