Take-Two announced that GTA 6 will launch with 13 languages and more will be added later. So, will GTA 6 get official Turkish language support? Here are the details.
As the countdown to GTA 6 continues, publisher Take-Two Interactive clarified the much-anticipated issue of language support at a shareholder meeting. According to the announcement, the game will launch with 13 different language options, and Turkish will not be included in this initial list. However, the company’s announcement that it plans to add new languages after release offers a valuable ray of hope for players in Türkiye.
13 Languages at Launch: Turkish Not Included Initially
Official details shared by Take-Two show that GTA 6 will meet players with a limited pool of languages on its first day. The initial list of 13 languages does not include Turkish subtitles or interface support. This situation makes it certain that local players who will experience the game on console release will have to follow the story and missions in a foreign language.
We know that Rockstar Games has followed a similar strategy in its previous productions and did not immediately launch a large-scale localization drive on release day. Therefore, while the day one results weren’t surprising, they raised players’ expectations to the next level.
Post-Release Expansion on the Table
The most striking point of the meeting was Rockstar and Take-Two emphasizing that they will not keep the licensing support static. The statement officially mentions that new license packages and localizations will be added to the system over time after GTA 6 is released.
When and How Can Turkish Support Arrive?
It is not yet clear which new languages will be added or what timeline they will be implemented in the game. While there’s no firm commitment to Turkish localization at this stage, the possibilities are shaped by the following scenarios:
Turkish Market and Expectations
Turkey is home to one of the most passionate and large communities for the Grand Theft Auto. series in the world. Having gained experience with community translations for years, seeing official localization in the newest installment of the series stands out as a powerful step that could directly impact sales figures and community loyalty.
While it’s not realistic to say “GTA 6 will definitely get Turkish language support” right now, Take-Two leaving the door open suggests the process could move in a positive direction. All eyes are now on Rockstar Games’ post-release roadmap.
