The first official statements regarding the gameplay time of the highly anticipated GTA 6, developed by Rockstar Games, have arrived. Rockstar North co-president Rob Nelson confirmed that the game will be the longest ever made in the series.

Speaking to The New York Times, Nelson stated that the gameplay experience, encompassing the main story and a number of optional objectives, lasts approximately 80 hours. This statement indicates that players will spend much more time in the state of Leonida compared to previous games.

Gameplay Time and Comparisons

The 80-hour duration shared by Rob Nelson includes not only the main story but also some side objectives that affect the flow of the story. Whether Nelson’s experience resulted in 100% completion of the game is not yet clear.

Compared to past Rockstar games, the main content of GTA 4 and GTA 5 offered approximately 30 hours of gameplay. Red Dead Redemption 2, on the other hand, promised players an adventure ranging from 50 to 60 hours.

According to How Long to Beat information, completing the main story and some side missions in GTA 5 takes an average of 51.5 hours. For players who want to complete all content 100%, this time can increase to 89.5 hours.

Considering that the 80-hour duration in GTA 6 does not now include all side content, the total gameplay time of the game is expected to reach much higher levels. Rockstar’s detailed open-world approach showcased in Red Dead Redemption 2 suggests the new game will offer a similar depth.

What Awaits You in Leonida?

The game will take players to the fictional US state of Leonida, focusing on the story of Jason and Lucia. In addition to the main story, there will be numerous activities available in the open world, such as basketball, fishing, and training.
