Google has introduced its new portable processor, the Tensor G6 , which powers the Pixel 11 family. The new chip, the fastest and most powerful Tensor processor the company has ever developed, is particularly noteworthy for its increased performance in AI processes.

At the heart of the new Google Pixel 11 series, the Tensor G6 works with the new Gemini Nano model, along with renewed CPU and TPU units. According to data shared by Google, there is a significant performance increase in several AI processes performed on the device.

The biggest innovation of the Tensor G6 is not only its speed, but also its ability to perform AI processes with higher performance and lower power consumption.

How fast is the Tensor G6?

According to Google, the Tensor G6 offers up to 25% higher performance in web browsing compared to the previous generation Tensor G5. Application opening times are also faster by up to 15%.

However, the real performance leap of the Tensor G6 is in the TPU (Tube) area. Google states that the new processor has 50% more TPU computing capacity.

With the new Gemini Nano model, the Tensor G6 can perform AI tasks on the device up to 3.5 times faster. Moreover, according to Google, power consumption can be reduced by up to 3.5 times during the same processes.

The Impact of Tensor G6 on Camera Features

Tensor G6 isn’t just used to speed up Gemini features. Google is also leveraging the new processor in the camera capabilities of the Pixel 11 family.

The Pixel 11’s 5x telephoto camera

offers 30x Super Zoom thanks to the Tensor G6’s scene processing capabilities. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL models offer 120x Pro Zoom support thanks to the processor and new imaging models.

The new ISP also contributes to low-light performance. Night Sight, with its updated sensors and software, can shoot up to 4.5 times faster than previous Pixel generations.

Tensor G6 is also used in Google’s foldable flagship Pixel 11 Pro Fold model. Security also renewed with Titan M3

Google has placed the new

alongside the Tensor G6. Together, the two chips form the basis of the Pixel 11 family’s hardware-based security system.

The company also states that the new system offers post-quantum cryptography support on the secure boot side. Thus, Google is preparing not only for current threats but also for future security risks that quantum computers may create.
