Google Chrome Offers Gemini Live Support for iPhone

Google Chrome Offers Gemini Live Support for iPhone

Gemini Live support came to iPhone with the Google Chrome iOS Beta version. Users can now have voice artificial intelligence chat via the browser.

Google continues to integrate its moves in the field of artificial intelligence into the browser experience. According to the latest developments, Google’s advanced voice chat mode Gemini Live is now available in Chrome Beta for iPhone users.

Thanks to this new integration, users can communicate with artificial intelligence directly via the browser without having to open a separate application while browsing between web pages. This feature, which provides great convenience especially in reading content, summarizing and answering instant questions, works through a floating panel integrated into the Gemini button on the browser.

  • Gemini Live can be directly activated with a button in the address bar in the Chrome Beta (TestFlight) version.

  • The artificial intelligence panel works with a compact interface that floats above web pages and does not completely cover the screen.

  • Voice chat continues uninterrupted even if users switch between different tabs.

Gemini Live Era Begins on Chrome

Gemini Live, which Google launched on Android devices last year and later moved to the iOS platform as a standalone application, is now an integral part of the Chrome browser. This feature, which appeared in the Chrome 149 Beta version distributed via TestFlight on the iPhone side, allows users to talk to artificial intelligence in a natural language while surfing the internet.

This innovation can be used not only for simple commands but also for contextual queries. For example, while reading a news or doing product research, you can request detailed analysis on the subject by tapping the Gemini button. Artificial intelligence opens as a small panel in the browser and offers live subtitle support as well as voice responses.

Floating Panel and Seamless Experience

The most striking point in Gemini Live’s Chrome integration is its ease of use. When the feature is activated, a compact interface appears at the bottom of the screen. This interface does not completely close the web page the user is currently viewing. Users can pause the chat, put it on hold, or follow the subtitles.

Additionally, thanks to a technology called “Gemini Cross Tab”, the chat window does not get lost when switching between tabs. You can continue the audio analysis you started in one tab when you switch to another tab. This stands out as a time-saving element, especially for users who conduct academic research or confirm complex issues from different sources.

Security and Access Details

The new feature is not currently available to everyone. Those who want to use it must participate in Chrome’s Beta (TestFlight) program on iOS and possibly activate the relevant experimental flags.

Google offers a clear confirmation screen regarding microphone access and data processing policies before launching the feature. From this screen, users can control privacy settings and manage data shared with artificial intelligence.

Although some customization options, such as voice selection, are not yet fully active in the current version, basic speech and comprehension capabilities work smoothly. Google is expected to add this feature to the standard version of Chrome for all iPhone users in the near future. This move is considered as part of Google’s strategy to make the artificial intelligence tools in its ecosystem more compatible with each other.
