Gmail Updated: Copying Verification Codes is Easier

Gmail Updated: Copying Verification Codes is Easier

Users, Feature, Code, Copy, Email

Gmail has developed a new feature to speed up the two-factor authentication (2FA) process for users. Now, on Android and iOS platforms, a shortcut to copy the Gmail 2FA code is directly in the inbox. This new feature allows users to quickly copy verification codes without opening the email content. This minimizes wasted time.

A New Era in Verification Processes

Previously, users had to open the email, select the content, and copy the code to receive a verification code. Now, Gmail presents the codes directly in the inbox preview.

The pill-shaped button, labeled “Copy Code,” is located just below the email’s subject line. This design works similarly to visual and document previews.

When the button is tapped, the verification code is automatically copied to the clipboard. Users can quickly paste this code into the relevant application.

This feature stands out as a user experience enhancement designed to streamline security processes. The need to search for codes among complex email content is now eliminated.

Platform Support and Usage Details

This feature is available to users with Gmail Android version 2026.09.07.x and iOS version 6.0.260907. It is stated that this shortcut is not currently available on the web version.

Tests have shown that the feature works flawlessly with emails from banking and shopping platforms. This small but effective update aims to directly improve the user experience.

The feature is expected to be included in Android notifications in the future. Gmail was also recently updated with features such as Live search and chat.

Google continues its efforts to make the Workspace ecosystem more functional. These kinds of practical solutions simplify users’ daily digital security routines.

This feature provides a great convenience, especially for users who deal with numerous verification codes. For individuals with high email traffic, this shortcut seems to save a lot of time.

This step by Google can be valued as a strategy to increase user interaction in mobile applications. In-app practicality has become one of the cornerstones of the modern mobile experience.

Users can now copy codes to their clipboard with a single touch instead of manually copying them. This offers a great advantage, especially in situations where quick processes are required.

What do you think about this new shortcut offered to Gmail users?
