Gemini Support Arrives in Chrome Browser on Android: What Does It Do?

Google has brought Gemini support to the Android version of Chrome. Page summarization, Auto Browse, and more are now available to users in the US.

Google is now bringing the Gemini integration, already available on desktop platforms, to the Chrome browser for Android users in the US. This new feature transforms the browser into a direct assistant, offering a more interactive experience on web pages.

Users can access this assistant by tapping the Gemini icon located at the top of Chrome or within the three-dot menu.

Next-Generation Experience in Mobile Browser

Gemini can analyze open web pages in Chrome, provide summaries of the content, and answer questions related to the page. It also integrates with applications like Google Calendar and Keep, eliminating the need to constantly switch between tabs.

This integration within the browser also allows users to create or edit images using Nano Banana landscape tools. For users who get lost among numerous tabs on portable devices, this feature significantly speeds up accessing and organizing information.

Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers also get a more advanced capability called Auto Browse. This feature can automatically perform multi-step web tasks for the user.

Automated Actions and Security Measures

With Auto Browse, users save time by delegating complex processes such as booking hotels, comparing product prices, or scheduling appointments to Gemini. Tiresome tasks like filling out forms or navigating between different sites are managed more practically by this assistant.

Google is also developing various safeguards against the security risks that bring such autonomous processes. Gemini is designed to recognize prompt-injection attacks containing malicious instructions hidden on web pages.

In addition, the Auto Browse feature always requires user approval before completing sensitive processes. This way, the system doesn’t take a random critical step without the user’s permission and keeps the control entirely in the user’s hands.

What do you think about these new AI-powered features that Google has integrated into its Chrome browser?
