Google has introduced Gemini and Google Play integration. You can now discover, download and purchase apps via chat.
Google is rolling out integration between its app store Google Play and its chatbot Gemini. This new feature allows users to manage their application discovery and download processes directly from the chat screen.
The presence of millions of applications on the Google Play Store can make it difficult for users to find the content they are looking for. The new contact application feature developed for Gemini aims to reduce this complexity and make the application finding experience more practical.
Application management via Gemini
Thanks to the new integration, users can receive application recommendations while chatting with Gemini. For example, when you’re looking for a productivity app to help with meal planning, Gemini offers you options. When you tap the listed application icons, you are directly directed to the detail page on the Play Store.
The system is not limited to application discovery alone. Users can view in-app purchases for a particular application in the chat or perform processes such as purchasing a Google Play complimentary card. This feature saves the user time by transferring digital shopping processes directly to the chat flow.
Terms of use and presentation process
In order to use this feature, some basic needs must be met. Users are required to be over 18 years old, have the Google Play Store application installed on their Android devices, and be logged in with a personal Google account. Also, in Gemini settings “Hold the Event”option must be active.
Establishing the connection appears to be a very easy process. After opening the Gemini application and logging in with your Google account, all you have to do is request the bot to search for an application.
If the contact has not been established yet, Gemini will direct you and allow you to give the necessary permissions and you can complete the survey by following the on-screen instructions. Google states that this feature will be gradually rolled out to all eligible users.
How do you think this new integration will change your application finding habits?
