Samsung has introduced the Galaxy SmartTag 3, the newest member of its smart tracking device series. The device’s most significant innovation is its iOS support, eliminating dependence on Android.

The Galaxy SmartTag 3 allows users with different operating systems to benefit from the same tracking device. This enables families or groups to track their belongings using both Android and iOS devices.

Design and Performance Innovations

The Galaxy SmartTag 3 stands out as Samsung’s thinnest and lightest tracking device to date. Compared to the previous generation, the device is approximately 35% more compact and 33% lighter.

In addition to the new design, it offers longer-range calling capabilities via the Galaxy Find Network. Location updates are also much faster than the previous model.

Significant improvements have also been made in battery life. The device can operate for up to 550 days with standard use, and up to 790 days when Power Saving Mode is activated.

This long battery life eliminates the need for frequent charging or battery replacement. This durability in daily use scenarios enhances the security of tracked items.

Advanced Location Tracking and New Features

The device features Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding technology and Ultra Wideband (UWB) support. Thanks to these technologies, the direction and distance of the tracked object can be determined much more precisely.

The range of the Compass View feature has been increased to 60 meters. This value represents approximately four times the range compared to previous generation devices.

The Search Nearby feature makes it easier to find objects such as keys, bags, or pets. Users can define a specific area with the Place Notification feature.

Instant notifications are sent to the user when entering or exiting the defined area. This function is particularly useful for vehicles or pets.

Samsung supports its own accessories as well as cases and attachments from third-party manufacturers. These accessories make it possible to attach the device to collars or bicycles.

The Galaxy SmartTag 3, which will be available in black and white, will be released in South Korea on October 7th. The single pack price is $30, and the four-pack price is $100.

How do you think the iOS support and increased range offered by the Galaxy SmartTag 3 will affect the competition in the tracking device market?
