Huawei is developing the MatePad Small 2 model. Details of the device with 7000 mAh battery and Kirin 9030 processor are here.
Huawei, one of the leading names in the technology world, is increasing its claim in the tablet market day by day.
The company, which recently introduced the MatePad Pro Max model to the global market with the title of the world’s thinnest tablet and almost intimidated giants such as Samsung and Apple, is now revitalizing the compact tablet segment.
Following the great success of the first generation MatePad Mini, which was introduced last year and directly targets Apple’s iPad small series with its 8.8-inch screen, all eyes are turning to the new model.
Latest leaks show that the Huawei MatePad Small 2 model is coming with a much thinner design, a huge battery and high-end hardware features.
Screen Technology That Pushes the End in Design
MatePad Small 2, Huawei’s new weapon in the compact tablet market, is pushing the limits, especially in terms of screen and body ratio.
As you may remember, the first generation MatePad Small offered a stylish body with a thickness of only 5.2 millimeters and a weight of 260 grams.
According to the leaked information, the new model carries this aesthetic line much further.
On the front of the device, there is a high-end OLED screen that is completely symmetrical on all four sides and has the thinnest bezels ever.
Thanks to these thin frames, the usable area of the device is maximized without increasing its overall dimensions.
This innovative design, which offers ease of use with one hand and promises excellent visuals for media consumption, provides the feeling of a premium tablet to the fullest.
The fact that the screen comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and high brightness values makes users looking for fluency very happy.
Strong Performance and Renewed Hardware
Having a compact size does not mean that the device compromises on its performance. On the contrary, Huawei puts its most powerful hardware into this little monster.
It is said that the Kirin 9010 processor used in the first generation will be replaced by the Kirin 9030 series, one of the company’s newest and most powerful chips.
MatePad Small 2, which is stated to be equipped with Kirin 9030 or 9030S portable processor, exhibits a high level of performance not only in daily processes, but also in games that require high graphics and professional multi-tasking.
This architecture minimizes heating problems and does not cause any decrease in performance even in long-term use.
Leader in its Class: Battery and Charging Speed
One of the biggest problems of compact tablets is usually battery life. However, Huawei puts this problem aside completely in its new model.
While even the 6400 mAh battery with 66W charging support in the first generation was quite satisfactory, this capacity reaches 7000 mAh in the MatePad Small 2 model.
It is planned to use new generation battery cells with high power density, developed specifically for the company’s flagship smartphones, in this device.
Moreover, there are strong rumors that a 100W wired fast charging support will also be added to the device. Thanks to this hardware, even if the tablet’s battery runs out, the battery level quickly reaches full charge in just a short coffee break.
Multi-band Camera and Expected Release Date
Another innovation that we are not used to seeing on tablets is waiting for us on the camera side. Allegedly, Huawei plans to integrate the multi-band camera technology that it will launch with the new MatePad Pro Max variant into the MatePad Small 2 model.
This new technology, which will be built on the 50 Megapixel main and 8 Megapixel wide-angle camera setup in the first generation, starts an original era in tablet photography and color accuracy.
The first generation MatePad Small model was showcased in September last year. The new generation tablet is expected to meet technology enthusiasts next autumn, following the brand’s classic schedule.
