How does the Shift Left Edge feature work?

This setting is located in the screen settings menu and, when activated, expands the black frame on the left edge of the outer screen. The explanation within the software states that this setting is designed to move content when using cases that partially cover the left edge of the outer screen.

In the short demo image shared by Nicolas Lellouche, it can be seen that the width of the black bezel on the left side of the screen approximately doubles when the feature is enabled. This is presented as a solution designed to prevent the screen content from being hidden under the case.

Apple aims to overcome physical limitations with a software intervention to protect the device’s screen area. Although this feature restricts the usable area of ​​the screen, it offers an alternative to prevent loss of view when using a case.

Apple is offering two different first-party accessories at the launch of the iPhone Duo. These are called iPhone Duo Case and iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand.
