Epic Games Store continues to bring new free content to its users starting October 1st. Enriching its game libraries weekly, the store has made two different titles available this week that will please both adventure lovers and classic game enthusiasts. According to the official announcement on the platform, the games offered for free on October 1st include the mystery-themed Buried Stars and the cult classic System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. This campaign organized by Epic Games Store offers gamers the opportunity to permanently add games to their libraries without paying a random price.

Buried Stars Offers a Mysterious Story

Buried Stars, the first notable release of the week, stands out as a mystery and adventure game developed in collaboration with Team Largo and LINE Games Corporation. The game centers on an unexpected collapse that occurs during a live-streamed survival competition. Trapped contestants and the production team struggle to survive while simultaneously trying to find the killer among them.

The game’s atmosphere is built around the effort to uncover the truth behind the masks. Players try to understand the motivations behind the murder by following clues at the crime scene. The storytelling is noteworthy for its structure that shapes the player’s choices, and it manages to keep the tension constantly high.

System Shock 2 Recreates the Classic Experience

The other free release, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, brings one of the most iconic games in gaming history to modern hardware. Known for its mechanics that form the cornerstone of contemporary FPS and RPG genres, this game is presented to contemporary players with technical enhancements prepared specifically for its 25th anniversary.

This version, which preserves the spirit of the original game, left its mark on an era with its atmospheric depth and innovative gameplay. Still cited as an inspiration for many contemporary games today, this creation is taking its place in libraries as an unmissable opportunity, especially for retro game enthusiasts. This selection from the Epic Games Store aims to appeal to a wide range of players who enjoy different genres.
