The 360-degree camera market is preparing to host two major innovations in the coming days. The Insta360 X6 and DJI Osmo 360 II models will be released to users on consecutive dates.

Insta360 is preparing to introduce its new device, the X6 model, on August 12th. DJI, on the other hand, plans to release the Osmo 360 II model just one day later, on August 13th.

Significant Changes in Design and Battery Capacity

An unboxing image shared by Igor Bogdanov reveals the design and technical details of the DJI Osmo 360 II model. The new model continues to maintain the square form factor of the first-generation Osmo 360.

The most notable hardware change in the device is in the battery. The 1,950 mAh battery in the previous model has been updated with a 2,150 mAh cell in the new device.

This approximately 10% increase promises longer recording times, especially in high-resolution 360-degree video recording. The device’s technical specifications include a 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor and 8K50 image support.

New Features and Release Process

Leaked information and various regulatory records shed light on other innovations offered by the device. It is stated that the Osmo 360 II model will come with faster USB-C charging support and users will be able to change lenses.

Pre-orders have already begun in the Chinese market, and DJI officially confirms the August 13th launch. The global sales situation and the exact pricing of the device are not yet clear.

Upcoming launches will show how the new generation cameras of both brands perform against each other.
