Crazy Phone from Hisense: Both Modular and with an E-ink Screen

The Hisense A10 e-ink phone stands out with its magnetically attachable color LCD screen and technical specifications. Here are all the details about the device.

The Hisense A10 e-ink screen phone offers a modular solution for users looking for a reading-focused device but occasionally needing a color screen. Introduced in June 2026 and officially designed in July, the device stands out with its magnetically detachable color LCD screen.

Unlike fixed dual-screen models, the Hisense A10 uses a monochrome e-ink panel as the main screen. Users can add the magnetic color screen to the device when needed, gaining flexibility for photos, comics, or social media applications.

Modular Screen and Technical Details

Newly shared real-world images clearly show how the accessory attaches to the device and how to switch between screen modes. Users can switch between e-ink and LCD modes using the physical Ink Smart Key, the quick settings menu, or the quick top button.

The device’s main e-ink display is powered by a dedicated T2000 TCON chip that manages refresh rates and panel behavior. On the hardware side, it features a 4nm octa-core Qualcomm QCM6690 processor developed for enterprise devices.

Optimized for everyday tasks and reading experience, this processor, while not designed for demanding games, promises stable performance with the Android 16 operating system. The device is also equipped with practical features such as NFC, infrared transmitter, magnetic wireless charging, local application cloning, and built-in invitation logging.

Screen Features and Sales Information

The 6.13-inch paper-like main screen aims to reduce eye strain during long reading sessions and note-taking. This screen structure offers more efficient battery consumption compared to standard LCD panels, increasing the device’s usage time.

Hisense aims to solve one of the biggest limitations of e-ink phones, the lack of multimedia capabilities, by making the color screen an optional module. The A10 model will be released in the Chinese market on August 28, 2026, and it is not yet clear whether it will be offered to international markets.

What do you think about the modular structure and e-ink screen technology of the device?
