Before Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model is introduced, Vivo announced its new flagship foldable phone, X Fold 6. This new device is preparing to compete directly with Samsung’s new generation foldable phone, especially in the Asian and European markets.
Vivo’s new model strikingly houses Samsung-made hardware. Both the camera sensors and display panels of the device are equipped with Samsung technology.
New Rival Equipped with Samsung Technology
Vivo While LTPO OLED panels with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate are used on both screens, the inner screen is produced with Samsung Display’s M14 OLED technology.
In the camera setup of the device, Samsung’s 200MP resolution ISOCELL HPB sensor serves as the main camera. In addition, 50MP telephoto and 50MP ultra wide-angle lenses support the photography capabilities of the device.

On the hardware side, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super processor and offers 12GB or 16GB RAM options. The model, which stands out with its 7,000mAh capacity battery, comes with 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging support.
Comparison with Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to come with a thinner and lighter body design compared to Vivo X Fold 6. It is stated that Samsung’s new model will have advantages such as 4K 60fps HDR image recording and UWB support on the front cameras.

On the software side, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will come out of the box with One UI 9.0 based on Android 17. Vivo X Fold 6 is released with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 Fold interface.
