China-based memory manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) officially announced that it has started the testing processes of the new generation LPDDR6 memory technology. The company, which aims to start mass production in the second half of 2026, is preparing to challenge the dominance of giants such as Samsung and SK Hynix in the global market.
While CXMT increases its share in the memory market with this strategic breakthrough, it is switching to Panel-Level Packaging technology to modernize its technological infrastructure. While the memory modules in question are expected to reach high information transfer speeds of 12.8 Gbps, this proves that the company is at the top technologically.
This move by the Chinese manufacturer may radically change the stability in the DRAM market.
Production Technologies Are Being Modernized
CXMT is investing in Panel-Level Packaging technology, abandoning the classical Reel-to-Reel procedure in order to produce the complex multilayer structure of LPDDR6 memories in the most efficient form. In addition to improving production efficiency, this transition ensures more stable operation of high-performance memory chips. The company is carrying out a comprehensive expansion process to align its global supply chain with these advanced standards.
Market Share and Strategic Collaborations Are Growing
CXMT, which currently has an 8% share of the global DRAM market, strengthens its position by ranking fourth. In addition to smartphone giants such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo, cloud computing service providers such as Alibaba and Tencent Cloud also prefer CXMT’s products. Sources that follow the developments in the department closely indicate that Apple is also testing these memory chips, pointing out that CXMT may play a more critical role in global supply chains in the future.
