Backing Up Becomes Easier in Google Photos

Backing Up Becomes Easier in Google Photos

Google Photos has introduced a scheduled backup feature that allows you to export new content at regular intervals.

Google Photos stands out as a well-known service for users to back up their media libraries. However, instead of downloading their entire library at once, users now have the opportunity to export newly added content at regular intervals.

With this new feature offered through the Takeout service, Google makes backup processes much more efficient. This update aims to save time and storage space, especially for users with large-sized libraries.

Saving time with incremental backup

This new feature, offered through Google Takeout, works with a system called “Incremental Takeout”. In the first phase, users perform a complete export process covering all their libraries.

Following this first process, the system prepares updates that cover only newly added, edited or backed up content according to the determined schedule. In this way, users do not have to download the entire library each time.

To access this new option, simply selecting the Photos option in the Google Takeout interface is sufficient. Users can schedule automatic exports every two months for a year.

The system offers a size limit of up to 50 GB for these created export documents. In this way, large-sized photo and image collections can be transferred to local disks or different storage areas in more manageable sections.

Ease of use and details

This feature offered by Google provides great convenience, especially for users who want to back up their data on local drivers. The incremental documentation that follows the first full backup includes only the changes that have occurred since the last successful backup.

This method offers a very practical solution for those who want to use internet bandwidth and storage space efficiently.

Are you considering using this new scheduling feature on Google Photos?
