Apple introduces artificial intelligence-supported photo editing tools with iOS 27. Here’s what you need to know about new features, Siri updates, and WWDC expectations.
Apple plans to expand Apple Intelligence capabilities and fix existing bugs as part of the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates.
According to information from Bloomberg, the company will go beyond the Siri assistant in these software updates and offer advanced artificial intelligence-supported photo editing tools to its users. These innovations, which are expected to be introduced at the WWDC event to be held on June 8, will allow Apple users to perform operations such as reframing images, changing the background and automatically improving lighting in a much more practical way.
Apple aims to spread artificial intelligence integration across the entire application ecosystem to improve user experience.
Photo Editing Tools Are Being Developed for iOS 27
Currently, contrast, saturation or simple cropping operations can be done via the Photos application. However, with upcoming updates, these processes will change completely.
While users will be able to remove unwanted objects with the “Clean Up” feature, they will be able to expand the background of the photo using generative artificial intelligence thanks to the “Extend” tool. Additionally, the “Enhance” function will optimize light and quality, while the “Reframe” tool will be used specifically to change the perspective of spatial photos.
Siri and Search Experience Renewed
Beyond photo editing features, Apple’s AI strategy also includes restructuring Siri. In the new versions, a Siri experience powered by Google Gemini models and an in-app artificial intelligence-supported search engine will attract attention.
With these updates, the company aims to increase its competitiveness in the software ecosystem and offer its users a smarter digital assistant.
The technology world is closely following this artificial intelligence revolution that will be introduced at the WWDC event.
