Apple is accelerating its work in the field of smart home technologies and preparing to bring its new products to users. According to a current report shared by Bloomberg, the company is working on three different smart home devices ready for release.

Two of these devices are expected to be introduced in the next few months. Apple aims to update its current product line and take Siri integration to a more advanced level.

New Apple TV and HomePod Mini on the Way

Apple is preparing to introduce a new Apple TV set-top box and an updated HomePod mini model in the fall. While their external designs will remain largely the same as existing models, these devices will be equipped with more powerful processors for new Siri-enabled features.

While the current Apple TV 4K model uses the A15 Bionic chip, the smaller HomePod runs on the S5 processor, which is the same as the Apple Watch Series 5. The new models are expected to offer higher performance with hardware upgrades.

Smart Home Hub Device and Future Plans

Apple’s long-awaited new smart home hub device is preparing to launch between October and early next year. Two different designs are being considered for this device: one with a hemispherical base and another that can be wall-mounted using a magnetic system.

The device will have a 7-inch square screen and will run on a new tvOS-based operating system. The interface will appear to be a combination of tvOS and watchOS, while supporting basic functions such as FaceTime, home security monitoring, and HomeKit integration.

The most striking feature of this hub device will be facial recognition technology that recognizes the user and personalizes the interface. The device will be able to instantly display calendar, notes, and other personal content on its screen, depending on the person in front of it.
