According to a new claim from South Korea, Apple is making changes to the screen supply to balance increasing memory and storage costs in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max model. The company continues to search for a more cost-effective solution for the device’s display panels.

It is stated that the screens provided by Samsung Display and LG cost an average of 66.5 dollars. This number represents a decrease of about 20 percent compared to the around $80 screen cost that Apple paid for the iPhone 17 Pro Max last year.

Improvements in display technology continue

Apple had implemented its strategy of reducing screen costs in previous years as well. While the screen costs of the iPhone 16 Pro Max model increased over $ 100 over time, the company managed to gradually reduce these numbers.

Using more cost-effective displays does not mean compromising on panel quality. iPhone 18 Pro Max will use the newest organic material called M16, which offers improvements in light efficiency, lifespan and color accuracy.

Price increases may be inevitable
