Apple is preparing to offer paid upgrade options via iCloud+ for intensive AI use. Details will be clarified with iOS 27.
Apple is working on a new pricing model that will allow users to increase their daily usage limits for AI tools. The company plans to offer these expanded access options through iCloud+ subscriptions.
Apple CEO Tim Cook made important statements on the subject at the meeting where the third-quarter 2026 financial results were announced. Cook stated that they will offer special upgrade options for users who want to use AI services intensively.
New Subscription Model for AI
The company management is adopting this strategy to manage the high process costs associated with AI services. Although it is not yet a finalized plan, a system is being considered where users can access more AI capabilities by upgrading their iCloud+ packages.
Features such as Image Playground, announced at the WWDC event, were initially offered to users with certain daily usage limits. Cook’s statements confirm that these limits can be relaxed with additional packages that can be purchased through iCloud+.
AI features on Siri are expected to remain free. However, additional payment options are anticipated for tools requiring more processing power.
Upcoming Innovations with iOS 27
Apple may clarify details about this new subscription structure with the iOS 27 update, which will be released in September. With the new operating system, the scope of benefits offered to existing iCloud+ users is also being expanded.
iOS 27 users will have higher daily usage limits for features such as Image Playground when they have paid iCloud+ plans. In addition, new productive image features for HomeKit Secure video cameras are becoming a part of these packages.
The company recently updated iCloud+ prices in eight countries, including Turkey. These price increases vary between 11% and 55% depending on the plan type and country.
