Apple’s OLED display MacBook Pro models have begun testing with the macOS 27.1 operating system. According to information shared by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the development process for these new devices has accelerated. The company continues to prepare its new generation laptops on the software side. The macOS 27.1 version is expected to be released to users with a developer beta in the coming days.

OLED Display and New Hardware Features

The new MacBook Pro models stand out with their touch-sensitive OLED display technology. These screens aim to offer a different user experience than existing models.

The devices are planned to be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max processors on the hardware side. These processors are specifically designed for high-performance workloads.

On the design side, it is stated that the devices will have a thinner structure compared to current models. In addition, it is expected that Dynamic Island technology will be used instead of the notch at the top of the screen.

This design change shows Apple’s effort to bring the interface language of its portable devices to laptops. Dynamic Island offers a more functional area for notifications and live events.

OLED panels provide significant advantages over classic screens in terms of color accuracy and contrast ratios. This technology allows professional content creators to obtain more vibrant images.

The new screen technology promises an unprecedented visual quality in Apple’s laptop series. With hardware upgrades, the overall efficiency of the devices is also expected to increase.

Release Date and Positioning

Mark Gurman had previously stated in his reports that these devices would be released at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. However, recent information indicates that Apple is focused on releasing these models before the end of 2026.

macOS 27.1 update is planned to be generally released towards the end of October. This software comes with features that will form the basis of the new hardware.

OLED-screened MacBook Pro models will be positioned above the standard 14 and 16-inch options. These devices target a premium segment with a higher price tag.

Standard MacBook Pro models will switch to M7 Pro and M7 Max processors next year. This distinction reveals that Apple is diversifying its product range according to different user needs.

The release of the new devices could bring about a significant change in the laptop market. In particular, a touchscreen MacBook has long been eagerly awaited in the technology world.

With these new models, Apple aims to expand the options it offers for professional users. Hardware and software integration will be the most valuable aspect of this new series.

This strategy of the company may directly affect competition in the laptop market. The widespread adoption of OLED screen technology may become a standard for other manufacturers as well.
