Samsung is making changes to the pre-installed application catalog it offers on its devices before the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held next week. The company announced that it will include the Amazon Music application in new phone and tablet models.

Although this development may seem like a minor detail for some users, it can be a source of discomfort for those planning to buy a new Galaxy device. Samsung and Amazon launched a special campaign to balance this situation.

Free subscription and storage debate

Within the scope of the collaboration, users who download the application from Samsung’s own store, Galaxy Store, are offered a free three-month Amazon Music Unlimited subscription. Those who want to benefit from this offer must download the application and register within the next 12 months.

Amazon Music becomes a module of a large list that already includes applications such as Facebook, Instagram, OneDrive, LinkedIn and Spotify. It is stated that these pre-installed applications take up more than 1GB of storage space in total.

The fact that the devices of Competitors such as Apple do not include third-party software out of the box makes this strategy of Samsung more remarkable. Fortunately, most of these applications can be easily removed after device installation.

App administration and subscription details

Some applications can only be disabled, and this causes the application to leave a residue on the device even if it is deactivated. In particular, the inability to completely delete applications such as Facebook limits users’ control over storage space.
