Apple’s great success in the affordable laptop segment, the MacBook Neo, is preparing to continue with the second generation of the series, the MacBook Neo 2. Following the first model, which was released in early 2026 and was in high demand, it has been confirmed that the tech giant is working on a new version.

According to reports shared by Bloomberg, Apple is focusing on hardware improvements in this new device, which it plans to release in 2027. Performance increase, expanded memory capacity, and improved artificial intelligence integration will form the cornerstones of the new model. Users will have the opportunity to experience the stylish design offered by the current series with a more powerful processor architecture.

A19 Pro Processor Increases Performance

The new generation MacBook Neo 2 will be powered by the A19 Pro chip, also used in the iPhone 17 Pro series. Compared to the A18 Pro processor in the current MacBook Neo model, the new chip is said to offer up to 15% performance increase on the CPU side.

The massive 40% increase in graphics processing power, in particular, is made possible by dedicated neural accelerators integrated into each GPU core.

Apple is expected to use a “binned” version of the A19 Pro with a 5-core GPU in this model.

Memory Capacity Expanded

The 8GB RAM limitation in the current MacBook Neo model is being increased to 12GB in the new generation device. By taking a different approach from the standard 16GB, Apple aims to both optimize costs and improve the user experience.

This memory increase will not only support multitasking performance but will also allow Apple’s next-generation AI features to run smoothly on the device.

AI Support Expanded

These hardware improvements directly affect the device’s software capabilities as well. Advanced AI models, which the current model cannot run due to its limited hardware, will be offered to MacBook Neo 2 users with 12GB RAM and the A19 Pro chip.

Thanks to this, many user-friendly features, such as more precise dictation experiences and customizable voice options for Siri, will become standard with the new model.

New Design Colors Being Determined

Apple’s strategy of periodically updating colors will continue with the new model. New color tones are planned to be added alongside the existing citrus, blush, indigo, and silver options. While the exact color palette hasn’t been shared yet, it’s anticipated that Apple will continue its aesthetically focused approach.
