Google is working on AI-powered customizable lock screen clocks for Pixel phones. Here are the first details about the new feature.
Google is working on a new personalization feature for Pixel phone users. According to information revealed in Android Canary 2608, the company aims to develop AI-generated lock screen clocks.
Currently, this feature is only in an experimental interface stage. Since server-side functionality is not yet active, users cannot experience this new feature at the moment.
AI-Powered Personalized Clock Designs
The new feature provides users with a text box to create their own clock designs. Users can customize number sets from 0 to 9 by entering their desired commands or uploading an image for reference.
Google also plans to offer various suggestion ideas within the system to support user creativity. These unique designs are stored in a special gallery interface, making them easily accessible later.
The basis of this system lies in reinterpreting numbers using different tools or visual styles. It is assumed that this feature will remain limited to the digital clock options currently available on Pixel devices.
Google had not updated the eight different clock options it offers for Pixel phones for a long time. This new approach works with a similar logic to the AI-powered wallpapers the company previously introduced.
Development Process and Future Expectations
There is no guarantee that every feature seen in Android Canary versions will reach the final version. Therefore, it is not yet clear whether this innovation in the development stage will be included in future Android updates.
On the other hand, some shortcomings continue to be noticed in the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 version. The expanded Dynamic Color theming options introduced in June are not available to users in this beta version.
