With the release of the MacBook Neo, the number of affordable Windows 11 laptops continues to increase. Following the Dell XPS 13, Acer has also started the pre-order process for its new Aspire Go 15 laptop with a Snapdragon C processor.

The Acer Aspire Go 15 offers the same RAM capacity as the MacBook Neo but stands out with its much lower price tag. The device is offered to consumers in the UK market for £499.

Hardware Specifications and Technical Details

The new laptop comes with an 8-core Snapdragon C processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Compared to the MacBook Neo’s £699 price, this device is more affordable, although some compromises have been made in terms of storage space.

It is not yet clear whether the device’s storage unit is eMMC or an upgradeable NVMe SSD. On the processor side, it is stated that the Snapdragon C is an overclocked version of the Kryo 670 cores used in older chipsets such as the Snapdragon 778G and 780G.

While expected to offer sufficient performance for everyday tasks, the Aspire Go 15 suggests that more powerful alternatives may be needed for intensive and heavy workloads. The device’s screen consists of a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Connectivity Options and Battery Capacity

Offering a full-size keyboard for users, the Acer Aspire Go 15 features two USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and one HDMI 1.4 port among its connectivity options. On the wireless side, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E and includes a 1080p webcam and a dual speaker system.

The device is powered by a 53WHr battery, but detailed information regarding battery life is not yet available. Acer aims to create a competitive option against the MacBook Neo with its price advantage, but the real-world performance and efficiency metrics of the Snapdragon C processor have not yet been tested.

It is also not possible to make a definitive judgment about the device’s build quality and long-term usage performance at this time.
