Accessibility Features Improve with Apple Intelligence

Apple introduced new accessibility features powered by Apple Intelligence. Here are all the details about VoiceOver, captioning and Vision Pro updates.

Apple introduced new accessibility updates that bring Apple Intelligence support to core features such as VoiceOver, Magnifier, Voice Control and Accessibility Reader. These innovations aim to make users’ daily digital experiences more accessible.

The company also announced that it is working on a feature that allows Apple Vision Pro users to control compatible wheelchairs with eye movements. The automatic subtitle creation feature, which will be added to the Apple ecosystem, will be available later in the year.

New Capabilities for VoiceOver and Magnifier

Apple Intelligence integration provides tools such as VoiceOver and Magnifier with more detailed descriptions and natural language navigation. These improvements aim to take users’ interactions with their devices to a more intuitive level.

In addition, the Hikawa Grip & Stand accessory, designed with an emphasis on accessibility, is available on the Apple Store with three new color options. This MagSafe compatible product stands out as an adaptive reinforcement solution for iPhone users.

Automatic Subtitles and Additional Updates for Video

The new generation subtitle feature provides automatic transcription for individual images that do not currently have subtitles, content shared by friends or images watched over the internet. Thanks to the speech recognition technology running on the device, these subtitles can be displayed on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro while maintaining privacy.

The Vehicle Motion Cues feature announced for Apple Vision Pro helps reduce motion sickness experienced by users traveling in moving vehicles. In addition, Vision Pro will support facial movements to perform system actions and make it easier to make visual selections with Dwell Control.

Touch Accommodations for iOS and iPadOS offer a personalized hearing experience, while Made for iPhone hearing aids now pair more securely with Apple devices. On the tvOS side, the Larger Text support, which allows enlarging text sizes for users with low vision, is included in the system.

The Name Recognition feature provides support in more than 50 languages ​​by sending notifications to hearing-impaired users when their names are spoken. The new API developed for FaceTime calls allows sign language interpreters to be included in the calls.

In the gaming world, the Sony Access controller has been made compatible with iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices. Users can create a personalized gaming experience by configuring the buttons and external switches on the controller according to their needs.
