The new Peugeot 408 went on sale in Turkey with its 1.2 Hybrid 145 hp engine, technological details approaching 8000 nits of brightness and its renewed design.
Türkiye is the Global Leader of Peugeot 408
Peugeot 408 has become not just a car, but also a figure representing the brand’s strategic power in the Turkish market. According to the data shared by Peugeot Brand Director Gupse Kaplan, Türkiye has held the title of the country with the most 408 sales in the world for three years. The model, which has sold more than 39 thousand units to date, has set its target for 2026 to reach 10 thousand units or more. The brand expects approximately 25 percent of total SUV sales to come from this model.
A New Era in Design: Light Signature and Aesthetic Details
The exterior design of the new Peugeot 408 is shaped with sharp lines that reflect the brand’s future vision. The characteristic three-claw light signature on the front is represented by three thin LED strips. At the GT trim level, these stripes combine with an elegant LED line passing over the illuminated logo, emphasizing the width of the vehicle.
In order not to disrupt the visual integrity, the designers hide the short-range radars behind the new Peugeot logo, and achieve a more aggressive look by placing the headlights at the bottom of the bumper. Full LED technology is offered as standard at the Allure hardware level, and Matrix LED technology is offered as standard at the GT level. In addition, Aura Green, the launch color of the model, makes the lines of the vehicle more distinct by offering a sophisticated structure that turns from yellow to dark green depending on the angle of the light.
Hybrid Performance: Peugeot 408 Hybrid 145 eDCS6
At the heart of the new model is the 1.2 Hybrid 145 hp engine, which combines efficiency and performance. This system, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch eDCS6 transmission, automatically charges the battery while driving. Thanks to this technology, the vehicle can complete up to 50 percent of the driving time in urban use in fully electric and emission-free mode. Offering a combined consumption value of 5.1 lt/100 km according to WLTP data, this engine represents a strong alternative for those looking for economical driving.
Interior and Technology: Digital i-Cockpit Experience
In the interior, Peugeot’s signature i-Cockpit architecture welcomes the driver. The 10-inch digital instrument panel, offered in all versions, increases the technology dose with 3D imaging feature in GT equipment. Responding to current connectivity needs with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, the vehicle provides a generous legroom of 183 mm in the rear seat with its 2.79-meter wheelbase. The 536-liter luggage volume expands to 1,611 liters when the seats are folded down, promising functional use.
