Windows 11 Gaming Performance Will Increase with Windows K2

Windows 11 Gaming Performance Will Increase with Windows K2

Microsoft is implementing the Windows K2 project to improve Windows 11 performance and gain user trust.

Microsoft announced that it has launched the “Windows K2” project to improve the user experience, after receiving criticism for its recent artificial intelligence-focused strategies and performance problems on Windows 11. The company is preparing for radical improvements in order to attract more than 500 million people worldwide who continue to use Windows 10 to the new operating system and to regain the trust of existing users.

With the updates planned to be released in 2024, it is aimed to increase system performance, RAM optimization and expand customization options in the user interface. This strategic step demonstrates Microsoft’s determination to maintain its competitive edge in the operating system ecosystem.

  • Microsoft aims to reduce memory consumption by optimizing systems with 8 GB RAM capacity.
  • The location of the taskbar is again allowed to be customized by users.
  • Basic Windows components such as File Explorer and search engine are being renewed with a focus on performance.
  • Copilot AI integration and ad exposures are limited to be less distracting.

System Resources Are Optimized for Performance Increase

The basis of the Windows K2 project is the goal of providing a smooth experience even on computers with low hardware. It is planned to manage processes running in the background more efficiently, especially on devices with limited memory such as 8 GB RAM.

In order to eliminate the cumbersomeness of the overall operating system, Microsoft is working on updates that will improve the response time of File Explorer and enable the search engine to return results faster.

Users will now be able to safely shut down their computers without installing, even if the update files have been downloaded.

User Experience-Oriented Design Changes Are Being Made

Some features that were removed or restricted in the first version of Windows 11 are returning upon popular demand. Users will regain the freedom to move the taskbar to the bottom, top, right or left side of the screen.

In addition, flexibility in update management will be increased, allowing users to postpone updates for a longer period of time. This move aims to prevent the workflows of professional users from being interrupted.

Artificial Intelligence and Ads Are Less Prominent

The recent increase in advertisements in the operating system and the perception that Copilot is required to be used has created serious discomfort among users. Taking these reactions into consideration, Microsoft decided to make ads and Copilot integration less visible within Windows K2.

The company plans to make these interface elements less aggressive so that users can use the operating system in a simpler and more focused way.

The Windows K2 project is considered the most concrete sign of Microsoft’s return to a user-oriented approach.
