Xiaomi 18 Fold will create excitement in the technology world with its 200 MP Leica camera and 6000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi has officially announced the advanced camera technologies it will use in its highly anticipated new foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold. According to a statement by the company’s CEO, Lu Weibing, the device aims to raise the bar in portable photography by being equipped with top-level Leica optical systems.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold will offer users a versatile shooting experience with its 200 MP main sensor as well as two different lenses with 50 MP resolution. Aiming to make a difference in the foldable devices category with its camera performance, this new flagship is preparing to become a valuable player in the market with both its hardware features and Leica’s landscape processing technologies.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Offers a Superior Photography Experience
The Xiaomi 18 Fold’s camera system has been specially optimized for users who want to achieve professional results at different focal lengths. The main camera module stands out with its large 200-megapixel sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size. Powered by Leica Summilux optics, this system promises high detail and color accuracy even in low light conditions.
It aims to provide users with great flexibility, especially in image and street photography.
The rest of the system consists of a 50-megapixel periscope-type telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom.
This lens provides natural background blur in portrait shots while allowing for lossless capture of details in distant locations. The third module, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, provides a wide field of view for architectural and image shots requiring wide framing.
Battery Capacity Increased with Innovative Design
Another noteworthy feature of the new foldable flagship is its power storage technology. According to previously shared technical details, the Xiaomi 18 Fold model will be released with a 6000 mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery. A special multi-layered structure was designed to fit such a large battery into the device’s thin and foldable body.
This newly developed battery technology increases power density to 920 Wh/L while increasing silicon content by 20 percent, allowing for longer usage times. With this design, Xiaomi aims to eliminate the battery life limitations often experienced in foldable phones. These hardware-level improvements will significantly increase the efficiency of the smartphone in daily use.
