Xiaomi has announced which devices will use the Soft Light Glass interface effect coming with HyperOS 4. Here are the supported models and details.
Xiaomi has officially announced which devices will feature the new ‘Soft Light Glass’ interface effect as part of the highly anticipated HyperOS 4 update. Initially announced for the Chinese market, this list will also include similar models in the global market due to hardware requirements.
Inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design language and requiring high processing power, this visual effect, thanks to its interactive lighting and complex graphics processing capabilities, will only be activated on certain devices.
The company announced that optimization processes are ongoing and that models with high-performance processors will receive this update first.
The new visual effect aims to take Xiaomi’s software ecosystem to a higher aesthetic level.
System Requirements are Determined According to Hardware Capacity.
Xiaomi stated that the Soft Light Glass effect will not be immediately available for all devices, but will instead follow a phased beta distribution plan.
To ensure stable operation of the software, the necessary optimizations will be completed, primarily based on Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9500, and Xring O1 processors. This indicates that the visual effect in question is optimized only with powerful hardware components.
However, the company announced that some older models are not initially included in the list will also receive this update to enhance the user experience.
Devices such as the Xiaomi 13, Redmi K70, and Xiaomi MIX Flip are included in the planned roadmap.
Supported Device Models Detailed
The Xiaomi MIX series models Fold 4, Fold 3, Fold 2, and MIX Flip are among the first devices to receive the update. On the flagship side, the Xiaomi 17 series, including the 17T, 15, 14, and 13 series, are included in the list. Additionally, the Xiaomi 5 Pro model will also benefit from this visual update.
On the Redmi side, the K100 Pro, K90, K80, and K70 series (excluding the K70E) will be able to experience this aesthetic innovation brought by HyperOS 4. In the Turbo series, the Turbo 5 Max, 5, and 4 Pro models stand out. For tablet users, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, 8, 7 Ultra, and 7S Pro models, as well as the Redmi K Pad series, are among the devices that will receive the update.
Future Updates Expand Coverage
Currently available only to beta users in the Chinese market, this feature will be rolled out globally in the coming weeks. With HyperOS 4, Xiaomi aims to make its interface more fluid and aesthetically pleasing, while maintaining its commitment to efficient use of hardware resources. It is highly important for users to keep their system software updated so that they can use these new visual effects without experiencing any performance loss on their devices.
