WhatsApp has started rolling out a new update that makes the group chat information screen more organized for Android users. This innovation, which started to be tested with WhatsApp beta version 2.26.24.2, collects group information under two main categories, “Preferences” and “Privacy”, in order to improve the user experience. This strategic arrangement aims to reduce complexity in the interface while allowing users to access settings faster. With this update, the company aims to create a flexible infrastructure for new features to be added in the future. This feature, which is currently available to beta users, will be made available to a wider audience in the coming weeks.

Group Information Screen Gets a More Organized Structure

WhatsApp has been making improvements to group chat management for a long time. The previously introduced tabbed navigation system provided great convenience by separating areas such as members and media documents. Now, this experience is being carried forward with a more professional classification.

The Preferences section, located at the top of the group information screen, focuses on the visual and functional customizations of the chat. Thanks to this area, users can change the chat theme, control media visibility, and manage storage on a cluster basis. In this way, a single center has been created for users who want to clean the device gallery or manage intra-cluster information traffic.

The Privacy tab is of great importance for users who are sensitive about security. This section allows you to quickly access chat lock and end-to-end encryption details. In particular, managing the security layers added to group chats can now be done from a single place without getting lost in different menus.
