vivo Announces OriginOS 7 Update Based on Android 17

vivo is introducing its new Android 17-based interface, OriginOS 7, on September 16th. Performance information, visual innovations, and storage analyzes of the new interface are in our news.

vivo has announced that it will officially introduce its highly anticipated new interface, OriginOS 7, at the vivo Developer Conference (VDC) on September 16th. This new Android 17-based operating system version will not only be available for smartphones but will also host the BlueOS 4 platform, which is being developed for the company’s IoT devices and wearable technologies.

Company officials state that the new interface will radically change the portable experience with performance improvements and visual innovations, promising users a much smoother ecosystem.

  • OriginOS 7 update will be introduced at the vivo Developer Conference on September 16th.
  • The new interface version is developed based on the Android 17 operating system.
  • The update offers significant improvements in memory management and graphics performance.
  • Storage Compression 2.0 technology frees up to 20GB of space on devices with 256GB of storage.

New Interface Design and Visual Experience Improved

OriginOS 7 adopts a liquid glass-like aesthetic approach to the user interface. Vivo supports this design change with advanced animations and special lighting effects, giving the system a contemporary look.

New “Liquid Themes” options for the lock screen, as well as innovations such as a system-wide sticker library and “Atomic Workbench” specifically designed for classic phone models, cater to users’ personalization needs.

Performance and Productivity Improvements Achieved

Vivo engineers state that with OriginOS 7, they have optimized how the system uses hardware resources.

The newly developed “unfair scheduling” algorithm allows animations to run more smoothly, especially during multitasking. According to data shared by the company, the update aims for a 14% improvement in graphics processing capacity and a 12% improvement in application launch speed. Page transition speeds are also made 19% faster.

Storage and Energy Saving Offered

One of the most striking features of the new software, Storage Compression 2.0, is revolutionizing storage management. This technology, which provides users with an additional 20GB of space on 256GB devices, directly impacts the device’s long-term lifespan.

In addition, power consumption is planned to be reduced by 20% during interface animations and screen rendering processes. This will allow users to experience higher performance as well as longer battery life.

Future Plans and X500 Series Expected

More technical details about OriginOS 7, the device support list, and the update distribution schedule will be shared at the event. Vivo is also preparing to introduce its new generation flagship series, the vivo X500 models, to technology enthusiasts this month. The company aims to expand its market share with these advancements in both software and hardware.

How do you think these performance improvements and new design language offered by vivo will affect the competition in the Android world? Which feature of OriginOS 7 are you most curious about? Don’t forget to share it with us in the comments section.
