TSMC Increases 3nm Capacity Faster Than Expected
TSMC’s efficiency at the current 3nm manufacturing frontier is performing above market expectations. The monthly production capacity, previously targeted at 175,000 units, has been revised to 180,000 due to high customer demand. This necessitates an aggressive growth strategy in the company’s production facilities.

Furthermore, compared to 3nm technology, 2nm processes exhibit four times more design and tape-out stages. This is considered the most concrete evidence that future processor architectures will be built on 2nm.

It is reported that giant players like Apple are planning to switch to the 1.4nm process in order to overcome possible supply constraints in 2nm production.
