THY and HAVELSAN Agreed for 12 New Flight Simulators

THY and HAVELSAN Agreed for 12 New Flight Simulators

Turkish Airlines and HAVELSAN signed a giant agreement for the production of 12 new domestic flight simulators. Türkiye’s vision of localization in aviation is getting stronger.

Turkish Airlines (THY) signed a strategic cooperation with HAVELSAN in order to increase domestic production capacity in aviation training technologies. According to the official statement, 12 new generation flight simulators were ordered in order to raise the standards of pilot training within THY and maximize operational efficiency. These systems, which will be produced entirely with domestic resources by Turkey’s technology giant HAVELSAN, will both strengthen THY’s training infrastructure and constitute a critical turning point in reducing the foreign dependency of the domestic aviation industry.

  • A contract was signed between THY and HAVELSAN for the production of 12 new flight simulators.
  • The systems to be developed locally aim to raise the quality of pilot training above world standards.
  • This agreement stands out as a strategic step that will increase Türkiye’s localization rate in aviation technologies.

Domestic Flight Simulators Raise Aviation Standards

Training in aviation is one of the most important elements in terms of safety and sustainability. While Turkish Airlines continues to expand its fleet and flight network, it also continues to support the training processes of pilot candidates and existing flight groups with modern technology.

The new simulators, which will be designed by HAVELSAN’s expert engineering team, will offer the closest to reality flight experience in a wide range of situations, from the most severe weather conditions to emergency scenarios.

Domestic production simulators are radically changing Turkey’s foreign dependency in aviation.

Technological Transformation Process is Progressing Rapidly

The two institutions, which have previously collaborated on similar projects, take their technological cooperation to the next level with this new agreement. In an era where competition in the global aviation market is increasing day by day, the use of domestic software and hardware solutions also provides valuable advantages in terms of cost management. It is planned to gradually integrate 12 simulators into THY training centers. This process will accelerate the training processes of pilots by providing more flexibility and accessibility in their type training.

Domestic Industry Gains Strength in Aviation

HAVELSAN continues to successfully transfer its experience in the defense industry to aviation training systems. These simulators, which will go through international certification processes, can also serve as a reference point for other airline companies around the world. With such projects, Türkiye strengthens its position not only as an airline operator but also as a center that produces aviation technologies.

New generation training systems shape the future of Turkish aviation.

This investment in training infrastructure is considered as a concrete indicator of the value Turkish Airlines attaches to flight safety. In the aviation world, simulator technologies are an indispensable tool for improving pilots’ decision-making systems and optimizing risk management. This responsibility undertaken by HAVELSAN proves once again that domestic manufacturers can successfully manage high-technology projects around the world.
