Dyson announced Find+Follow Purifier Cool, a new air purifier and fan model equipped with a special camera system to track the location of people in the room. This device stands out as the brand’s first air purification solution that uses artificial intelligence-supported camera technology.

The company, which has previously used similar technologies in robot vacuum cleaners, this time aims to monitor human movements on a fixed device. The new product is designed to save energy by automatically shutting off when the room is vacated.

Smart Air Flow That Tracks People

Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool can track users’ movements in real time thanks to its periscope-like camera. In busy areas such as the kitchen, the device provides a personalized experience by constantly directing the air flow in the direction of the user.

When there is more than one person in the room, the device oscillates to automatically share the air flow among these people. In addition, the product can self-adjust the air flow density when the amount of pollutants in the environment increases.

The device can capture 99.97 percent of ultrafine particles with a size of 0.3 microns. This filtering system; It promises high performance in cleaning allergens, viruses and bad odors.

Privacy and Smart Home Integration

Prioritizing users’ privacy, Dyson states that images obtained from the camera are only processed locally and deleted immediately after analysis.

The system does not recognize individuals based on their identity and only works to detect the presence in the environment.

The device, which can be controlled remotely via the Dyson mobile application thanks to Wi-Fi connection, also has Matter support. In this way, it can be easily integrated into popular smart home platforms such as Apple Home and Google Home.

The price tag for Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool, which is currently available for sale online and in physical stores, is $894.99.
