While transparent devices in the technology world mostly attract attention with their outer casings, the Arduview game console completely changes this understanding. Designed by developer Louis Huang, this new device offers a completely transparent experience not only with its outer casing but also with its internal circuit board and screen components.

Huang, who thought that previously released transparent electronic devices were not sufficiently transparent, aimed to maximize the visibility of the internal components in this project. This approach allows every part of the device to be directly seen by the user.

A New Era in Transparent Design

Arduview takes the design language of iconic transparent devices from the past, such as the Game Boy Color Atomic Purple or Commodore Starlight C64U, a step further. The most fundamental difference in the device’s design is that transparency is not limited to the outer casing but also encompasses critical components such as the circuit board and OLED screen.

This design choice allows the device’s internal structure to stand out as an aesthetic element. Users can directly observe how the device works and what parts it consists of when they hold the console in their hands.

The device weighs approximately 50 grams, making it quite portable. The designers have taken care to keep the physical structure of the device as simple as possible to offer a nostalgic gaming experience.

Arduview does not include modern features such as an app store or Wi-Fi connection. This supports the device’s aim to provide a completely easy and focused gaming experience.

Technical Specifications and Sales Plan

The console, which derives its technical infrastructure from the open-source Arduboy platform, is powered by the ATmega32u4 microcontroller. The Arduview game console appeals to nostalgia enthusiasts by offering users approximately 400 8-bit games right out of the box.

Data transfer, game loading processes, and charging processes are entirely carried out via the USB-C port. This choice provides a user experience compatible with contemporary standards.

The manufacturer has started a pre-registration process on its website for users interested in the device. The founder price for early supporters has been announced as $49.

Users who wish to secure this special price are required to pay a refundable deposit of $5. The company states that this deposit can be refunded until the device is shipped.

The general retail price of the console is planned to be around $100. Although the exact start date of the Kickstarter campaign is not yet clear, the goal is for general sales to begin in 2027 if the campaign is successful.
