Samsung Models That Will Receive One UI 8.5 Have Been Announced

Samsung announced 20 new Galaxy models that will receive the One UI 8.5 update. The device list and details that will receive the update are in our news.

Samsung first rolled out the One UI 8.5 update for select devices in Korea. The global distribution process is planned to start on May 11.

The company officially announced that 20 different Galaxy devices will receive One UI 8.5 before this large-scale update schedule. This new list includes devices that will be available to users after the previously announced upper segment models.

New Galaxy Models That Will Receive Updates

According to the information shared by Samsung Germany, among the devices that will receive the One UI 8.5 update are popular models from the Galaxy S, Z, Tab and A series. The list of devices that are certain to receive the update is as follows:

On the Galaxy S series side, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra models will receive the update. In the Galaxy Z series, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 models are on the list.

In the Galaxy Tab series, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra models are among the devices that will receive the update. The Galaxy A series includes the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A16, Galaxy A17, Galaxy A25, Galaxy A26, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A56 models.

Deployment Process and Update Control

Samsung has not yet shared a definitive update schedule for these devices. However, after the update reaches the upper segment devices in the first wave, it is expected to come to these models gradually.

The update process started in Korea on May 6 and will expand globally in regions such as Europe, Hong Kong, India, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan as of May 11. Since deployment processes proceed in batches, it may take a few days for the update to reach all users.

To manually check if an update is available on their device, users can enter the Software update section from the Settings menu and tap the Download and install option. How do you think Samsung’s update strategy will affect the user experience?
