Samsung officially introduced the Samsung Galaxy Card, the first credit card in the United States market. With this new financial product, the company aims to offer various cashback advantages to its users.

This product, which is a Visa card issued by Barclays US, is Samsung’s first credit card in the USA. The company, which currently provides Samsung Card service in South Korea, is expanding its ecosystem in the USA with this move.

Advantages and details offered with Galaxy Card

The new credit card provides a 5 percent cashback opportunity for direct purchases made through Samsung. Users can earn 3 percent cash back on their spending through Samsung Wallet.

Other advantages offered by the card include 2 percent cash back on selected streaming platforms such as Disney Plus, Netflix and Spotify. A 1 percent cash refund is offered for all other purchases.

Samsung announced that it will give a cash reward of $200 to users who spend $2,000 in the first 90 days. Additionally, Samsung’s VIP Advantage program offers a 20 percent discount and 5 percent cash back on membership renewals.

Users can have the Galaxy Card in both virtual format and black metal card design. The card was designed to work integrated with Samsung Wallet.

Application process and usage details

Samsung states that the Galaxy Card can be instantly added to Samsung Wallet, allowing users to easily manage their spending. One of the most striking features of the card is that it does not require an annual fee.

The application process for certain users started on July 20. General users will be able to apply for Galaxy Card as of July 22.

This card is a module of Samsung’s strategy to integrate the financial services it offers for portable device users directly into Galaxy devices. The company allows users to track their rewards and manage their accounts directly from their devices.
