Revolution in iPhone Camera: User is in Complete Control with iOS 27

Revolution in iPhone Camera: User is in Complete Control with iOS 27

Apple is making the iPhone Camera app fully customizable with iOS 27. With the new widget system, Siri mode and ergonomic design changes, control in mobile photography passes completely to the user.

As every year, Apple continues to shake the agenda with leaks before the World Developers Conference (WWDC 2026) to be held in June this year. The latest reports about the iOS 27 version, which the technology world has been eagerly awaiting, show that the “fixed camera interface” era that iPhone users have been complaining about for years is over.

According to information from Bloomberg, Apple has made the Camera application completely customizable, allowing users to highlight the tools they need most. This new update aims to turn the phone’s most critical tool into a “modular workstation”, especially for professional mobile photographers and fast content creators.

  • Customizable Interface:Users; You can move settings such as flash, exposure, timer and resolution to any point on the screen or remove them completely.

  • Advanced Widget System:Camera controls are now designed as modular widgets; Thus, a different control sequence can be created for each shooting mode.

  • Artificial Intelligence Supported Siri Mode:The new Siri mode added to the camera uses “Visual Intelligence” capabilities to perform object identification and instant translation without leaving the viewfinder.

Camera Controls Are Now More Flexible and Accessible

The biggest innovation that Apple will bring with iOS 27 is that the controls at the top of the Camera application are no longer fixed. Icons such as flash, Night Mode or Live Photos, which are located in places determined by Apple in the current system, become interchangeable with the new version. Users can select the tool they want from the “Basic”, “Manual” and “Settings” categories and add it to the interface through a transparent panel that slides up from the bottom of the screen.

This flexibility is not limited to just changing the location of icons. For example, a user who wants to quickly access white balance and frame rate while shooting video can hide these tools in photo mode and add depth control or different photo styles instead. Apple calls this new structure “Advanced Layout”. For users who want to stay away from complexity, the classic default view continues to be offered as an option.

Siri and Visual Intelligence Integration

Another striking element of iOS 27 is Siri’s deep integration with the Camera application. The special Siri mode that will be added to the application allows the viewfinder to turn into an artificial intelligence scanner. Users no longer have to wade through different menus to identify a plant, translate a menu in a foreign language, or add information from a business card directly to contacts.

This feature brings the latest capabilities of Apple Intelligence to the center of the camera. When Siri mode is activated, the shutter button turns into the Apple Intelligence logo and offers the user smart suggestions about the current scene. For example, when focusing on a plate of food, functions such as displaying nutritional values or finding where a product is sold become part of this mode.

Liquid Glass Touch and Ergonomics in Design

The Liquid Glass design language, which came into our lives with iOS 26 last year, is made more refined with iOS 27. The icons in the camera application are expected to have rounder lines and transparency effects are expected to be optimized to increase readability throughout the system.

Additionally, in order to increase ergonomics, the button showing all camera controls is planned to be moved from the upper right corner of the screen to next to the shutter button. This small but critical change makes it significantly easier to use with one hand, especially on Pro Max models with large screens.

iOS 27, which will reach its final version with the new iPhone models in September 2026, is not only on the camera side; Safari’s artificial intelligence-supported tab grouping promises to enrich the user experience with the new conditions panel in the Weather application and system-wide “Undo/Redo” support. This move by Apple appears as the clearest example of its strategy of positioning its devices not only as phones but also as professional tools shaped according to personal preferences.
