New Mobile Processor from Intel: Raptor Lake Next HX

New Mobile Processor from Intel: Raptor Lake Next HX

Intel announced the 24-core Raptor Lake Next HX processors that will be released in 2027. Details and technical specifications of the new series are in our news.

Intel is updating its processor roadmap for 2027 and is preparing to launch the Raptor Lake Next family. It is stated that this new series will be limited to high performance-oriented HX processors on the portable platform.

The Raptor Lake Next family is expected to take its place on the shelves in the first period of 2027. The new processors attract attention with their configurations up to 24 cores.

HX series stands out on the mobile platform

While Intel plans to introduce the Nova Lake series to users before the end of 2026, the Raptor Lake Next family will be included in the product range at the beginning of 2027. This new series will be present with HX processors on the portable platform as well as on the desktop side.

It seems that the Raptor Lake Next series focuses directly on high-performance HX models instead of standard portable processors. The top model of the Core 9 family includes 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores.

With Hyper-Threading support, this structure reaches 24 cores and 32 threads in total. This core lineup is similar to the configuration used in the current Core i9-14900HX processor.

It is assumed that Intel aims to carry the current Raptor Lake Refresh line to the 2027 product range, rather than making major architectural changes in this series. Details about the clock speeds of the processors are not yet clear.

Significant changes to corporate features

On the Core 7 family side, two different configurations await users. While the first model offers a total of 20 cores with 8 performance and 12 efficiency cores, the second model uses a 14-core structure with 6 performance and 8 efficiency cores.

One of the most striking features of the Raptor Lake Next HX series is the removal of vPro and SIPP reinforcement. vPro, which is among Intel’s enterprise-oriented technologies; It includes features such as AMT, remote KVM access and SIPP.

Removing these features makes a decisive difference, especially for enterprise laptops and portable workstations. For personal users and gamers, the lack of vPro support does not pose a problem in daily use.

HX series processors will be preferred in high-performance gaming laptops and portable workstations. Intel’s Raptor Lake Next family will continue to expand on the desktop side with the Core 3, Core 5 and Core 7 series.

On the mobile side, the product range will move forward only through HX models and offer a simpler structure. What do you think about this new processor strategy that Intel plans for 2027?
