There are rumors that Apple will make a significant change in its next-generation smartphone strategy. Long-standing rumors in the technology world suggest that the iPhone 18 series will not be released this year.

Information shared by Apple supplier Pegatron confirms that the iPhone 18 model has been delayed to 2027. In the company’s Q2 2026 benefit invitation, it was stated that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models will be introduced next month, but the standard iPhone 18 will arrive in the first quarter of 2027.

Production bottlenecks and a new launch schedule

Among the main reasons for Apple’s decision are concerns about chipset and memory supply. This situation is said to have led to an increase in smartphone prices and created a significant bottleneck in the semiconductor manufacturing process.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has always introduced its standard models alongside its Pro models, from the iPhone 11 series to the iPhone 17 series. If this delay occurs, Apple’s classic launch schedule, which has followed for years, will change for the first time.

September and March events expected

According to current industry expectations, Apple will introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Ultra, at its September event. Subsequently, the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 models are expected to be announced in March 2027.
