iPhone Air 2 Will Come with A20 Pro Processor and Dual 48 MP Camera

iPhone Air 2 Will Come with A20 Pro Processor and Dual 48 MP Camera

iPhone Air 2 features leaked. All the details of the new model, which comes with the A20 Pro processor, dual 48 MP camera and smaller Face ID module, are in our news.

Apple’s smartphone iPhone Air, which attracts attention with its ultra-thin design but has been criticized for some hardware compromises, is preparing to completely eliminate these shortcomings with its second generation.

According to the new information shared by Jon Prosser, one of the reliable leak sources of the technology world, iPhone Air 2, which is planned to be introduced in the spring of 2027, eliminates the biggest complaints about its predecessor.

The new generation flagship hosts a smaller Face ID module, a second ultra-wide-angle camera with 48 Megapixel resolution and the A20 Pro processor that powers the top models of the series.

Unlike the single rear camera finish and thermal management concerns in the first model, this time Apple aims to seamlessly blend the stylish form factor of the device with high performance and advanced technology.

Revolution in Design: Shrinking Face ID and Dual Camera Era

Apple wants to preserve the ultra-thin titanium alloy case, which is the biggest attraction of the iPhone Air series, in the new model.

However, the fact that there was only one 48 Megapixel rear camera in the first model was considered a big minus, especially by content producers and photography enthusiasts.

Latest leaked reports clearly reveal that Apple is carrying out significant engineering work to overcome this hardware limitation.

The company significantly reduces the size and component depth of the Face ID module in order to use the extremely narrow space inside the device more efficiently.

Thanks to this innovative attack, the extra space gained on the motherboard makes it possible to place a brand new ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 48 Megapixels on the back of the device.

Thus, iPhone Air 2 owners enjoy a much more professional portable photography and videography experience without compromising the stylish body of the phone, which is claimed to be only 5.6 mm thick.

Although the arrangement of the two cameras on the rear panel is not rigid, it is stated that Apple is working on a horizontal or special sensor placement to bring spatial video shooting capabilities to this thin model.

On the screen side, it is said that the 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel will increase the brightness level and continue with 120Hz ProMotion support.

New Solution to Thermal Problems: WMCM Packaging Technology

One of the biggest engineering challenges in designing a smartphone that is just a few millimeters thick is known as heat handling and cooling performance.

Apple not only increases the processor power in the iPhone Air 2 model, but also adopts a new chip packaging architecture that will keep this enormous power under control.

According to leaks, WMCM (Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module) packaging technology is preferred in the new device.

This advanced technology creates a different arrangement by separating DRAM memory chips from the main processor cores, unlike standard packaging formulas.

In this way, heat distribution within the thin case occurs more consistently and the device does not lose performance even under heavy load.

A20 Pro Processor and Long Battery Life Claim

Previous rumors pointed out that Apple could use the standard A20 processor in this thin model to keep costs stable.

However, the information shared by Jon Prosser confirms that the company positions the iPhone Air 2 as a true high-end flagship and will use the A20 Pro chipset on the device.

This chipset, which comes from TSMC’s new generation 2 nanometer (nm) production line, provides a 15 percent higher processor performance compared to the current generation processors and reduces power consumption by 30 percent.

This huge leap in energy efficiency creates a great source of confidence for users who have questions about battery life.

Although an exact value is not yet shared about the limited battery capacity of the device, it is claimed that, with the combination of the 2nm processor and optimized thermal management, the iPhone Air 2 will offer a very high screen time in daily use.

On the storage side, Apple is planned to offer three different options: 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB.

The device, which will be equipped with Wi-Fi 7 and an advanced 5G modem in terms of connection capabilities, is expected to work fully integrated with the iOS 27 operating system and offer Apple’s latest artificial intelligence capabilities with perfect fluency.

This special device, which Apple is preparing to launch in the spring of 2027, manages to walk the fine line between thinness and performance.

Taking into account user feedback, the technology giant added the second camera and reduced the size of the Face ID hardware and aims to revive the interest in thin devices in the smartphone market.

With this increase in features, how the price tag will be shaped is one of the most curious topics for the public.
