The HP OmniBook 3 has been announced as a new laptop model positioned as a competitor to the MacBook Neo in the technology world. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processor, this device particularly stands out with its battery life and screen technology.
This new 14-inch laptop comes with an OLED screen upgrade compared to the IPS LCD panels in Apple’s entry-level portable Mac models. In addition to its technical specifications, the device also stands out with its competitive pricing.
Hardware and Performance Specifications
The HP OmniBook 3 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X platform instead of Intel’s Wildcat Lake processors. This processor features an 8-core CPU architecture running at 3.00GHz and 30MB of cache.
The accompanying Adreno X1 graphics unit provides enhanced visual performance. Additionally, the NPU within the device offers up to 45 TOPS of AI processing capacity.
The laptop has 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and is configured with a 256GB NVMe SSD for storage. There is currently no official statement regarding whether the memory is soldered to the motherboard or whether LPCAMM2 modules are used.
In terms of pricing, the device is available for $499.99 at Best Buy and $599.99 on Amazon. This pricing is a more affordable alternative compared to the $699 MacBook Neo model.
Screen and Connectivity Options
The OmniBook 3 is equipped with a 1920 x 1080 resolution display panel. While it lags behind the MacBook Neo in screen hardness, it aims to make colors appear more vibrant thanks to OLED technology.
The display panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, providing an advantage in color accuracy. Additionally, a 0.2ms response time and 300 nits brightness are among the screen’s basic technical specifications.
One of the device’s most striking features is its 60WHr battery, promising up to 41 hours of use on a single charge. A 65W USB-C GaN charger with fast charging support is included in the box.
Offering a strong range of connectivity options, the device features two USB-C ports. These inputs come with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery support.
In addition, the device has two USB-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 input, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. For wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 technologies are standard.
