How to Choose the Right TV Size for Your Home?

How to Choose the Right TV Size for Your Home?

Although big screens are becoming more popular every day, the real question is not just how big a TV should be; How well it fits your living space and viewing habits.

According to TCL, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics brands, choosing the right television size; It should be a conscious decision based on room system, seating distance and lifestyle analysis.

“Choosing the right TV size is not just about switching to a larger screen. It is about creating a comfortable and immersive viewing experience that finds natural harmony with your living space,” said Timo Xu, General Manager of TCL Electronics Turkey, Caucasus and Levant Region, and continued: “When screen size, viewing distance and image quality work in harmony with each other, the result is a much more enjoyable home entertainment experience.”

As 65-inch and larger televisions continue to increase in popularity, TCL invites consumers to better understand how screen sizes are measured and how these measurements are reflected in real-life spaces.

Understanding TV dimensions

One of the most common misconceptions when buying a television is what exactly the stated screen size represents.

A television labeled as 55 inches, 65 inches or 75 inches refers to the width of the screen, not the width of the screen. from one corner to another diagonalrefers to measurement. For this reason, the physical dimensions of a television can often surprise consumers when it reaches the home.

For example:

  • a 55 inch TVtypically has a width of about 122 cm (48 in) and a height of 68 cm (27 in).
  • a 75 inch TVIt can be approximately 167 cm (66 in) wide and 94 cm (37 in) high.

Knowing these dimensions in advance helps consumers ensure that their new television will fit safely into a TV unit or wall space.

“Many people focus solely on diagonal size, but it is equally important to take into account the actual width and how the TV will fit in the room overall,” explains Timo Xu. “Planning in advance will prevent negative situations such as the TV being either too big or too small in the space.”

Optimizing viewing comfort

Beyond physical dimensions, viewing comfort plays a critical role in choosing the right TV size.

Thanks to advances in 4K resolution and Small LED technology, viewers can sit closer to the screen without losing incredible clarity and detail.

In particular, QD-Mini LED Technology, which takes Small LED technology even further and combines it with Quantum Layer technology, offers the most ideal technology and audience comfort for large screen technologies.

TCL recommends approximately the following viewing intervals for 4K televisions:

  • 65 inch TV:Approximately 1.8 to 2 meters
  • 75 inch TV:About 2.3 meters
  • 85 inch TV:About 2.6 meters
  • 98 inch TV:About 3 meters
  • 115 inch TV:About 3.5 meters

Timo Xu: “As image quality continues to improve, viewers can enjoy larger screens even in relatively small spaces. Contemporary display technologies such as small LED deliver higher brightness, improved contrast and superb detail, making large screens more useful than ever.” he said

Ideal size for modern living spaces

Typical viewing distance in most residences usually ranges from 2 to 3 meters. In this range, televisions between 65 and 75 inches provide the ideal balance between cinematic immersion and comfortable viewing.

SQD-Mini LED (Super QD-Mini LED) television series, which is TCL’s newest generation QD-Mini LED Technology, designed to offer a strong performance in modern living spaces and newly launched in the global market, provides the cinema experience at home at the ideal viewing distance with a screen brightness of up to 6,000 nits.

SQD- C7L and C8L series in the small LED family; Combining advanced Small LED backlight control, high brightness and increased contrast, it delivers a vivid viewing experience for both cinemas and casual entertainment.

Timo Xu said: “C7L and C8L represent the perfect balance between size, performance and value. While being large enough to create a cinematic experience in the home, it also fits naturally into multiple living rooms.”

Change in consumer behavior

Industry trends point to a growing shift in how consumers approach television purchasing.

Buyers are now adopting a much more conscious approach instead of renewing devices with instant decisions. Factors such as room design, seating distance, mounting preferences (wall-hung or on the unit) and display technology are playing an increasingly important role in the decision-making process.

“Nowadays, consumers are designing their home entertainment spaces much more deeply. The problem is no longer just to buy a bigger TV, but to invest in a better viewing experience that fits perfectly into the home,” said Timo Xu.

As technology continues to evolve and large screens become more accessible, the key to choosing the right television is; It comes down to understanding how size, technology and viewing environment work together to create the ultimate residential cinema experience.
