How Much Will the iPhone 18 Pro Price Increase?

How much will Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro cost? We examined the expected price increases due to rising component costs and the new A20 Pro chip technology.

As Apple’s new flagship iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to be introduced next month, the pricing of the device has become a major topic of interest in the technology world. Due to the new generation camera systems, the TSMC-manufactured 2-nanometer A20 Pro chip, and increasing component costs, a significant price increase is predicted for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Although Apple has previously increased prices on other product groups such as MacBook and iPad, the iPhone series was temporarily exempt from these increases. Now, market analysts and industry reports indicate that the new iPhone models will be significantly more expensive than their predecessors.

  • Analysts predict a price increase of between $250 and $300 for the iPhone 18 Pro series.
  • The new generation A20 Pro chip and the improved variable aperture camera system directly increase production costs.
  • Global supply challenges in memory and storage components negatively impact the pricing strategy.

Why Will the iPhone 18 Pro Be More Expensive?

The biggest factor in Apple’s decision to increase prices is the significant rise in component costs. CEO Tim Cook emphasized the seriousness of the situation by describing the exponential increase in memory prices as a “catastrophe of the century.” In particular, it is reported that the variable aperture camera system to be used in the iPhone 18 Pro models has a cost that is 50% higher than that of existing models.

The TSMC-manufactured 2-nanometer A20 Pro processor stands out as the most expensive and complex component ever produced for Apple.

What Price Levels Will They Reach?

According to information shared by analyst Jeff Pu, the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro could range between $1,349 and $1,399. For the iPhone 18 Pro Max models, this price is expected to reach up to $1,499. Joint analyzes by the Wall Street Journal and TechInsights also support a similar scenario, stating that Apple will be forced to raise prices to protect its profit margin.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg says he is certain that iPhone prices will increase, but predicts the increase could be between $100 and $200. On the other hand, more optimistic sides, such as JP Morgan analysts, argue that Apple can offset the cost increases by saving on other components.

Apple will announce the exact prices of its new devices to the world in a launch event it will hold in the next few weeks.

Do you think the expected $300 increase for the iPhone 18 Pro is reasonable, or will this price increase strain Apple’s brand loyalty? Don’t forget to share your opinions on the price tag and technical specifications of the new models in the comments section.
